Submission guide

Conference contributions for Roomvent are submitted through a two-stage process: first an abstract is submitted, and upon its acceptance, a full paper must be provided. All contributions will undergo double-blind peer review evaluation.

You may now submit a contribution for this event in one of three contribution categories:  

• scientific paper / technical paper / workshop proposal

Scientific Paper refers to research that focuses on discovering, explaining, or testing fundamental principles, theories, or phenomena.These papers typically:

• Present original research findings that advance knowledge in a field
• Follow the scientific method with hypothesis, methodology, results, and conclusions
• Emphasize theoretical contributions and broader implications
• Often include extensive literature reviews and statistical analysis
• May be more exploratory or foundational in nature

Technical Paper refers to research that focuses on practical applications, implementations, or solutions to specific problems. These papers typically:

• Present new methods, tools, systems, or techniques
• Emphasize how something works rather than why it works theoretically
• Include detailed implementation details, performance evaluations, or case studies
• Focus on solving real-world problems or improving existing solutions
• Often include benchmarks, comparisons with existing approaches, or practical validation

The distinction between scientific and technical paper  is intended primarily for the review process and subsequent selection of contributions for a special issue of the journal. 

Workshop Proposal refers to a submission to organize and conduct an interactive educational or collaborative session at the conference. Unlike scientific or technical papers that present completed research, workshop proposals outline plans for facilitated group activities. For Roomvent 2026, workshops have specific requirements: they must be designed to last 1-1.5 hours, are exclusively available to conference participants and require an additional fee if the proposal is accepted by the organizing committee. A workshop abstract should be a concise summary that includes these specific elements:

• Title and Focus - Clear description of the workshop topic
• Format - Specify if it's a project presentation, panel discussion, or other specific format
• Objectives - What participants will learn or achieve
• Key Activities - Brief outline of planned interactive elements
• Target Participants - Which conference attendees would benefit most
• Organizer Qualifications - Relevant expertise for leading the session
